This gala celebration marks the beginning of our 10th concert series. Join us to celebrate the achievements of our music society which, since its founding in 2009, has presented 60 concerts featuring more than 400 performers from all over the world. Come and enjoy the magic of Bulgarian folklore, the majesty of a $3-million-modern organ, the beauty of Classical music, the fun of musical theater and the power of opera. The program will include works by Bach, Verdi, Gershwin, Vittorio Monti, Laurence O’Keefe, Nell Benjamin, Pancho Vladigerov, Dobri Christov, Krasimir Kurkchiiski, Dimitar Naumoff as well as Bulgarian folk songs.

Romantic Poetry and Music: Lilia Slavova (actress) and Jeni Maneva (piano) 

Do you like poetry? Do you like Classical piano music? Our distinguished Bulgarian actress Lilia Slavova and pianist Jeni Maneva will present an intimate, beautiful and unforgettable evening featuring Romantic poems and piano pieces.  Music and poetry, spoken words and music rendition have been a part of our society for centuries. In the words of Voltaire “Poetry is the music of the soul, and, above all, of great and feeling souls.” The program will include poetry by Petrarch (Petrarca), Burns, Shelley, Wordsworth, Pushkin, Lermontov, Dickinson, Goethe, Mickiewicz and Poe as well as music by Liszt, Chopin, Schumann and Tchaikovsky. All poems will be performed in English.
