Music Theater Showcase: The Sound of Music
Back by popular demand! After their spectacular performances during the past 10 years at the BMS Concert Series, the students of the Music Theater Area of the Catholic University of America Rome School of Music, Drama and Art, one of the best music theater programs in the U.S., are coming back to present scenes from their upcoming production of the iconic musical The Sound of Music! Music Salon
Our first Music Salon will feature prizewinning young musicians from Bulgaria, China, Italy and the United States performing an array of solo, vocal, opera and chamber music works. The program will include compositions by Chopin, Liszt, Brahms, Dvorak, Puccini, Pencho Stoyanov and others. This is a co-presentation by the International Art Development and Promotion Association and the Bulgarian Music Society.

Young Musical Stars Showcase
A concert featuring some of the most talented young musicians in the Washington DC area who are prizewinners of international, national and regional music competitions. The program will include works by Chopin, Schumann, Debussy, Doppler, Piazzolla and other composers. This is a co-presentation by the Bulgarian Music Society and the Young Musicians Inspiring Change Organization (www.ymicus.org).

DUO per se
Scot Humes (clarinet, US) and Tania Tachkova (piano, Bulgaria)
A clarinet and piano extravaganza presented by two of the finest and most successful musicians in the United States. According to Fanfare magazine “both players are superbly aligned both to the music and to each other.” The program will include works by women composers from their latest CD.

Qisheng Ye (China): Solo Piano Recital
A special treat for piano music lovers! Join us to experience the beauty, excitement, virtuosity and passion of the monumental Liszt Sonata in B Minor performed by the extraordinarily talented young pianist Qisheng Ye. Mr. Ye is a prizewinner of numerous piano competitions and a graduate of the prestigious Eastman School of Music (USA) as well as the Central Conservatory of Music (Beijing, China).
In addition to Liszt, the program will include works by Beethoven and Schumann.
